Synopsis:

The Valtarese Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 1991 by New Yorkers with roots in the Val di Taro region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. With a mission to honor their heritage and support the Val di Taro community, the Foundation sought to preserve the rich, often overlooked stories of the families who emigrated to New York during and after the war.

Marc Gabelli who studied Digital Filmmaking at NYU and has produced and directed several documentaries focused on social mobility conceived the idea of creating a series of mini documentary stories. Together, Marc Gabelli and Andrea Martins developed the concept, shaped the narrative, and embarked on a 40 days shoot across New York City.

The result is an intimate, historically grounded project that brings to life the memories, sacrifices, and resilience of the Valtarese community ensuring that their journeys are remembered and passed down for generations to come.
