Synopsis

Motor car racing is known for being an elite sport, one where drivers usually begin training at a very young age, supported by strong encouragement and significant financial investment from their parents. This would also have been Tony Kanaan’s path, if not for a sudden and heartbreaking shift: the early death of his father when Tony was just 13 years old.

After this loss, Tony’s life changed dramatically. With the family’s financial stability shattered, he became solely responsible not only for pursuing his career but for taking care of his mother and younger sister.

A promise Tony made to his father just hours before he passed away defined the course of his life: giving up racing could never be an option. While his father’s funeral took place a moment Tony was too devastated to attend — he honored him in the only way he knew how: he went to the racetrack to train for his next competition. Tony won that race.

Created and developed with the intention of telling Tony’s extraordinary journey, the project reveals a story of resilience that transformed him into one of the most admired and beloved figures in the racing world. Against all odds, Tony Kanaan became a champion.
